Just a drop of Polyfilla

I have been following Imogen Heap for, you could say, a bloody long time.
I think she is incredible, and having seen her live twice already, I have never once been disappointed.
She is currently working on her new album, which you can follow on here.
And this below is just a short clip of what is to come. Enjoy...

It was a BRIT(s)ish brawl.

So, the BRITs took place last night and, as usual, it was all very predictable...
Here's the winners' list:

Duffy took home British Female Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British Album (for Rockferry).

Kings of Leon were the big international winners, taking home International Group, and International Album (for Only By The Night).
Personally, I think MGMT should have won both of these gongs and far more deserved them than Kings of Leon.

Girls Aloud won their first BRIT in seven years, picking up British Single (for The Promise).

Paul Weller scooped British Male Solo Artist (again, undeserved).

Iron Maiden won British Live Act (I'm sure there was better...)

Coldplay left empty handed, as Elbow picked up the British Group award.

And, over the pond, Kanye West took International Male Solo Artist.

Whilst newbie, Katy Perry won the International Female Solo Artist BRIT.

The most deserved award of the night came from Florence and the Machine, who picked up the Critics Choice Award.

And lastly, old favourites, Pet Shop Boys were presented with the BRIT for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

A Hangover Makes For A Late Start

I recently went to see Late of the Pier at The Leadmill, Sheffield.

They were amazing.

Oh, and here's my review for MTV TWO.

The End.

B's Dream State

A short while ago on BBC Radio 1's Chart Show with Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates, it was detailed, quite humorously, that Beyonce creates her designs, for fashion brand Dereon, via her dreams...

Now, I have crazy dreams, take last nights for example - prancing about in a snow covered field trying not to step on a million and one dead, wet mice, while looking for some guy that I 'fancied'. How does that constitute a design? A brown and white, drop neck number perhaps?

Well, if you want to see Beyonce's dream-inspried designs, check them out here.

And for those of you with less patience, here's a few examples...

1. I think my above dream inspired this... brown, unflattering, dead.

2. Beyonce dreamed of her future - stay at home mother, artist in spare time.

3. "I am a denim clad Catwoman and I will save the world (and look better than Halle Berry doing it.)

Dash of Confessional, Please

1. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY <3.

2. Dashboard Confessional are being generous and giving away a free download which you can get here on their Myspace page.

3. The track in question, 'Even Now' is beautiful, heartfelt and has that ever-so recognisable shoe-gaze quality Dashboard bring to it.

4. You can only get the download over the Valentine's weekend. So, be quick!

POP a GA Pill*

Polydor counter-part, Fascination, has revealed the future of the UK's biggest selling girl outfit Girls Aloud.

Since Cheryl Coles' role on hit show 'X Facor' happened, there have been rumours flying left, right and centre about a split. Add this to the fact none of the other girls love Nadine anymore, and Cheryl's 'apparent' solo career, and a few people had their finger's crossed.

BUT, it has now been confirmed that the girls have extended their contract and a follow up to 2008's 'Out Of Control' will be released as thier fifth studio album in 2010, as well as having signed for another two there after.

Hoo-rah! So you can all put your tissues down and take comfort in a few more doses of the gorgeous girls (minus the 'ginger' one, and the 'fat' one.) =D.

Forming in 2003, Noisettes are an indie/rock band from London and seem to have gained little recognition for their work, which is, I might add, bloody amazing.

The band are currently signed to Universal Records and after the underground success of first album 'What Time Is It Mr Wolf?' that spawned the singles, 'Scratch Your Name', and 'Sister Rosetta', they are set to release the follow up, 'Wild Young Hearts' on the 30th March, with a new single, 'Don't Upset the Rhythm' (Go Baby, Go Baby) on the 28th March.

If they tickle your taste buds, track them down at one of the following:

10/03/09 - Komedia, Brighton.
11/03/09 - Scala, London.
14/03/09 - Ruby Lounge, Manchester.
15/03/09 - Bar Academy, Birmingham.
16/03/09 - Cooler, Bristol.
18/03/09 - ABC2, Glasgow.
Or, catch them throughout May 2009, supporting Maximo Park.

How The Addiction Started...

Where to start?

At the beginning perhaps...

EXHIBIT A: ME.

I was bore to a mother and father, and an older brother. I was joined in the world by my twin brother also.

A childhood full of fishing, making dens and baking awaited me. (these are the tools for life, obviously).

School was my solitude. I learned my craft.

I'm now a twenty-something-year-old, studying Music Journalism and Broadcasting.

I am a music journalist. I freelance. I write for Disorder Magazine, MTV Two and Rock City's website.

You will become addicted.
